Thank you so much for the wonderful music, and wonderful food provided at your Fall Festival this weekend. We all had such a great time enjoying the music provided by students, and staff members. It is wonderful to see a staff so dedicated to teaching their students, and proud parents who appreciated every moment. We are committed to being a part of BAM and look forward to seeing our son advance to higher levels. Enrolling him in your academy was the best decision we ever made. Our son (Phillip) looks forward to his guitar lessons and it gives him a sense of purpose. We are also entertained by his practice sessions at home, and how he is actually playing real music. Our only regret is not finding your academy sooner. If there is a possibility we can add an extra day per week, we think it might be helpful. Also please let us know if you need any help with any future events. We would love to help any way we can in needed.

Thanks again for everything you do and for being such a blessing in our lives. - “Janie & Phillip Buys”

Our Objective

The BAM! objective is to provide students with an individualized program designed to provide the best over-all advancement opportunities and that means being flexible rather than rigid in our approach. So, we teach by notation as well as playing by ear. We have developed teaching methodologies that combine the traditional with methods that are uniquely our own.

BAM! features our own String Orchestra, String Quartet, Horn Ensemble, Choir, Guitar Ensemble, Fiddle Group, Percussion Group and several Lab Bands in many genres (Bluegrass, Rock, Jazz, Big Band, Latin, etc.). Students are able to compete for positions in these groups.

BAM Staff –

………Thank you for everything you do for the Bulverde Academy of Music programs! I’m so impressed with all the activities and the warm and welcoming feeling that is always there. The level of skill and involvement of the team of instructors is amazing. This experience of guitar lessons and PERFORMING in front of people at several events has CHANGED my 8 year old son! He has been so shy and trying to find his “thing” – in an athletic focused/competitive family. We enjoy watching him have fun, practice and becoming more confident in this music world at BAM. John Isaacks has done an amazing job in working with Rhett – words can’t express the change we see. I would recommend that every parent allow their son or daughter to try this program – to see the possibilities that they may not know are there. - “Colinda Grotchett”

Our Founder

bob_at_deskOwner and Founder, Bobby Flores , is a classically trained, Grammy-winning arranger/composer/musician who has been performing and recording for the last 40 years. He sings, plays several instruments and is a sought after session musician and record producer. He has been featured on over 400 albums, many of which he also produced and/or arranged. Bobby has written many jingles and music pieces that are heard everyday on radio and television and has been teaching music privately for thirty years.

A few words from Bobby:  “When I was in my teens and really starting to get serious about music performance & composition, I had to study from books, hang around the great players in town and go to a local university for basic music theory. It took a lot of time, a lot of traveling and years to take all that knowledge and begin putting it together in a practical way.

With the programs and instructors we’ve put together at BAM, it’s all in one place, streamlined and designed for the serious musician/singer/composer. Our methods are all geared for the stage and delivered by active recording and touring artists, performers and active studio musicians. So our training comes directly from the experienced performers that are seen on stages worldwide (Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, Grand Ol’ Opry, etc.) heard on radio, and love sharing their knowledge and experience with students that really desire to excel. It’s a very unique opportunity.

If someone is aspiring to be the best they can be on their instrument or voice, gain a vast knowledge in music theory, harmony and composition, and make a mark in the musical world in their own unique way, BAM is the place to be.” Bobby has hand-picked BAM! instructors of exceptionally high caliber. We are seeking serious students who are disciplined and willing to work hard at advancing their talents. Reliable attendance and dedicated practice time are essentials.

To anyone interested in an outstanding musical education, I would recommend the Bulverde Academy of Music most highly. I have been very impressed with everything at the school. The instructors are all excellent and the school has a development plan designed to advance the student to their highest potential as a performer.

My son has been in the program a year and a half and his progress has been amazing. In that time he has progressed from a beginning student to a versatile player, and I am confident that the school staff and its president Mr. Flores have the talent, knowledge and experience to continue his progress honing his skills and expanding his knowledge as he becomes a performing musician. Anyone who is serious about learning music would be well served at BAM. - “Mike Hertz”
